Tannersville, PAApril 2, 2013 – Hillary Madden joined the law firm of Royle & Durney on February 11, 2013. Partners George Royle and Jeff Durney welcomed Ms. Madden as an associate to the Tannersville, Pa. general practice firm, which also includes associate Geoffrey Worthington. Ms. Madden will concentrate her practice in criminal defense work, civil litigation, and wills and estates.

“We’re happy to have Hillary’s energy and enthusiasm, and her knowledge of criminal matters and estate practice,” said Mr. Durney. “She will be an integral member of our team as we grow our practice and expand our reach in the Pocono community.”

Prior to joining Royle & Durney, Ms. Madden clerked for now-retired President Judge Ronald E. Vican and for Judge David Williamson, both on the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas. She also worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the Monroe County District Attorney’s office.

Ms. Madden graduated cum laude from Widener University School of Law in May 2010, where she competed in Moot Court and Trial Advocacy and was a member of the Honor Society for both organizations. She received her undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College in 2007, with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.

Ms. Madden, formerly Prutzman, is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, where she is on the Pro Bono Committee and is the Wills for Heroes Coordinator. She is a past President of the Young Lawyers Division. She is also the Assistant Girls’ Basketball Coach at Liberty High School in Bethlehem, PA.

Shortly after the addition of Ms. Madden to the firm, Royle & Durney enhanced its online presence with the launch of a new website. Jason Trump of Trump Media in East Stroudsburg, Pa. was selected by marketing consultant Elizabeth Marcon to design the website. Part of the effort included a new logo for Royle & Durney, also designed by Mr. Trump. The blue square logo will be a fixture on the firm’s online and printed material.
